The Catholic Action Research Network (CARN) is an online forum for teachers and leaders in Catholic schools engaged in innovative action research projects. This website, and the network of people who access and contribute to its content, support and sustain a new generation of leaders in Catholic schools who seek positive change through applied educational research. When implemented by practitioners, through systematic inquiry, and oriented to positive change and social justice, action research in Catholic schools is the engine that will drive school renewal and reform.

We assert that no less than full scale renewal and reinvigoration of Catholic schools is possible when educational leaders evince an inquiry‐oriented approach to their ministry in the classrooms, schools, and parishes that they hold dear. (Frabutt et al., 2008, p. 1)
